The Unity of True Worship

They sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals;
for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood
out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”
– Revelation 5:9 –

When we appear before God in glory, we will sing a new song in perfect harmony without disruption. There will be no division. Together we will declare His glory. Every soul present will agree that Jesus Christ is “worthy to take the scroll.” Even now, before we reach Heaven, the unity of the church is displayed and fostered through our worship of Christ the King

Few things are more unifying than the genuine worship of Jesus Christ. When members of a church gather to sing hymns, they stand together. They sing the same words to the same music following the same tempo. They face one direction with their voices lifted to praise the one and only God. They boast in the works of Jesus Christ. They give thanks to one Father. Their hearts are stirred by one Spirit to worship the Lamb who was slain, who rose, who redeemed us by His blood from “every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”

Since we will spend eternity singing praises to our great God, we should begin practicing now. So let us value the gathering of the church in song and prioritize the quality of our singing. Let us choose music that is centered upon God and exalting of Christ. We should use instruments to lift the voices of the saints in harmony to God. Then our unity will be known. It will be displayed for unbelievers to wonder about what power could move such a diverse gathering of people to worship the one and only God.
