Jesus: The Word Made Flesh

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

At Christmas, we celebrate that the Word became flesh. God did not appear again with thunder and lightning as at Mount Sinai. Instead, He came to earth as a little baby we could approach and adore. He dwelt among us as a man we could understand and love. He shared with us a message of saving grace and transforming love for all who would accept it. God became one of us so that we could become one of His. This is the meaning of Christmas.
